This year, the market kicks off on Saturday, 29th November 2025, launched by none other than Santa Claus himself, who will cruise up the Nore to mark the start of the seasonal fun.
The market runs every weekend thereafter until Tuesday, 23rd December. Located on The Parade and in the city centre, the market features row upon row of charming wooden chalets selling artisan crafts and design, beautiful gifts, seasonal foods, confectionery, mulled wines and hot drinks. Mountainview Christmas Market

Just a short drive from Kilkenny city centre, Mountain View Markets offers one of the most magical festive experiences in the country, where the Christmas spirit comes alive against a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills, twinkling lights, and starry skies.
Each weekend, starting Saturday 22nd November, the Mountainview Christmas market fills with the buzz of local craftspeople and food producers showcasing their best seasonal creations. Wander through over 150 stalls laden with hand-poured, naturally scented candles, stunning artisan jewellery, cosy knitwear, and home décor. Soak up the scent of mulled wine and cinnamon as you explore and treat yourself to something delicious from one of the many gourmet street food vendors serving everything from wood-fired pizza and loaded fries to decadent hot chocolates.

Santa’s Magical Village Castlecomer
One of the most fun group activities Kilkenny has to offer for families this Christmas is happening in Castlecomer Discovery Park.
