This St. Patrick's Festival, Smithwick's Experience Kilkenny is rolling out the green carpet for a weekend packed with live music, vibrant celebrations, and special surprises in our history-steeped Barrel Yard.
As the home of Ireland's oldest ale, we're marking the national feast day in true Smithwick's style — with unforgettable performances, festive atmosphere, and a few exclusive perks along the way.
From March 14–17, visitors named Patrick, Patricia, or any variation of our patron saint's name can enjoy complimentary entry to the Smithwick's Experience.*
*The free tour offer is valid only for walk-up visits, not for those on pre-booked tours, and is subject to capacity availability. As it's a tour of a former brewery site, the offer is also open to over 18s only. Those who believe they qualify must show valid photo identification.
Live Music at The Barrel Yard
Set in our cosy, enclosed venue in the heart of Kilkenny city, The Barrel Yard will host a vibrant lineup of live music throughout the festival.
Saturday, March 14 - Abbeyfolk — from 5pm
Acclaimed ballad and folk group Abbeyfolk open the weekend's celebrations. Hailing from Laois, Kilkenny and neighbouring counties, and led by Kevin Morrin, the group is known for lively sets and unforgettable performances.
Tuesday, March 17 – St Patrick's Day - B&B — from 3:30pm
After the Kilkenny St Patrick's Day parade, join us for an evening of music with B&B. This lively two piece will keep the celebrations going with a mix of Irish folk, ballads, and crowd favourites.
A full bar will be open throughout the festival at The Barrel Yard, serving Smithwick's on tap, low alcohol options and non alcoholic alternatives. Whether you're raising a glass with old friends or discovering the story behind Ireland's oldest ale, Smithwick's Experience Kilkenny is the perfect place to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
