The Barrel Yard, Smithwick’s Experience’s new outdoor space, is a cosy and vibrant outdoor heated space with a full bar and chill-out music where our local bartenders will delight you with the amazing stories of the Smithwick Family and our indescribably delicious Beer.
The space was once the brewery yard where historically, large wooden barrels were repaired and stored, ready to be filled with Smithwick’s ale for distribution to pubs around Ireland.
The Barrel Yard is the ideal space for visitors and tour groups alike to relax before and after their visit and for friends and family to gather and enjoy Smithwick’s famous red ale in the heart of the medieval city.
The Barrell Yard is open every weekend from Spring through Autumn, closing for the Winter months, and home to live music and food every weekend of the Summer.

Both the enclosed, heated Barrel Yard and indoor Smithwick’s Bar provide the perfect location for an event that will transcend the conventional. Each venue hosts up to 70 people comfortably.
